Canso Bomber

The Canso Bomber trail is a muddy hike through coastal rainforest that leads to wreckage of a World War II aircraft crash.

Distance: ~5km

Region: Strathcona Provincial Park, Buttle Lake

Trail Type: Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, near Tofino

Duration: 1 hour 55 minutes

Difficulty: Moderate

Accessibility Information: This is not a wheelchair accessible trail. The start of the trail is along a paved path. Then it transitions into a gravel uphill path to the abandoned building. After the building, there are very muddy sections, large roots, fallen trees to climb over, and potentially slippery boardwalk. The final push to the airplane is steep and requires scrambling over roots and trees.
